Hi, I’m Rachel.
In Kindergarten I remember overhearing a conversation between my mom and my teacher. “She daydreams too much, it’s like she’s somewhere else.” I was. I was through a looking glass and over the rainbow and on a magic carpet. Now, I’m a lifelong reader, wonderer, and wanderer; a bibliophile with serious case of wanderlust. The signs were there from the beginning.
I’m a mom of two humans and one canine, wife to the tall basketball-playing chemistry nerd from high school, and a displaced Southerner in New England. A recovering academic, I’m a sociologist by training and work in clinical research.
In 2024 I decided to…live. To chase after what I wanted and not wait for good timing. For me, that looked like pursuing travel as a side job and finally tackling the biggest item on my bucket list (behind visiting each continent)—writing a book.
My Travel Philosophy
I started Ever Elsewhere because I needed to find myself again. Over time, I carried so many roles—work, family, schedules, appointments, volunteer duties, there was no space left to carry my dreams. But when I traveled, I felt alive. When I read, I remembered. With her nose in a book and head in the clouds, I was reconnecting with the girl I used to be. I began to rediscover the passions I had set aside.
I want other women to find that same freedom—to reconnect with themselves, their stories, and the longings they were told to leave behind..
Immersive
Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
From swimming with whale sharks to losing myself in a novel, to solo mornings in Paris, the world is out there, waiting to be savored.
Lasting impact
We build with clarity, act with integrity, and always stay curious.
